Gilda comes back to Ponyville looking to patch things up between her and Rainbow Dash. Gilda’s already battling her pride on the issue, but to make things worse she just happened to walk in on the girls in the middle of Twilight casting a transformation spell, changing the griffon into a pony! So, how much is Rainbow’s friendship worth to Gilda?

It’s an interesting concept to say the least and one I intend to follow. It’s a bit of a slow build, as of Chapter 4, she’s only still JUST become a pony and hasn’t even left the hospital room. The first person narrative is a little off putting since it only occasionally is written in Gilda’s “voice” and it can get a little repetitive in describing things (her pain after the transformation, for instance, is gone over far too many times).

On top of that, it’s kinda depressing. I was hoping for antics with Gilda turned into a pony and struggling to be nice to ponies that she doesn’t like for the sake of the one she does. Instead, she’s mostly either complaining about Rainbow Dash not looking at her or thinking about doing legit violence to the ponies.

I think this story CAN be good once it actually gets going, right now it just feels like its trying too hard to make a slow build. It just needs to get on with it already.

Today we, over on gamefaqs Current Events, hit the 300 mark for our MLP General topics. It was first started on Feburary 22nd of 2011 and kept on going. Each topic maxed at 500 posts, so in doing that math, we made over 150,000 posts! And that isn’t counting a few of the topics that we’re closed or modded.

We’ve had some crazy times, bad times, good times, and shared personal stories with one another. It’s a great community and I wouldn’t go one day without posting there.

I’ll have to work on getting chapter four out much quicker than chapter three. I think most people expect a Gilda/Dash ship, but for what I have planned, that won’t happen. Hah Ha! There will be surprises in the future chapters.

Gilda Fanfic - Close, yet not quite there.

I’m staring at roughly 2,100 words that seem ready to go, but its still not a completed chapter. Yet I feel compelled to get it out because of the exorbitant delay for a new update. I think my problem stems from my slapdash beginning, and the somewhat fickle vision I had first conceived for this story. My direction has now turned to a serious plot that goes through layers of conflict. The hardest part for me is trying to set a precise feeling for the relationship between Gilda and Rainbow Dash. I feel like I’m walking a very narrow path that could have some major problems if I’m not careful with my words.

The style of the story had me concerned as well. It’s more austere, yet vivid, due to the nature of Gilda and the conflict I have in mind for her. Some parts have me questioning if I went a tad too far (it might need a dark tag), but I’ll let the readers decide that when I publish it - I’m dying from the number of edits I already made to these 2,100 words.

I’ll attempt to have the rest of the chapter fleshed out soon, but lets put it this way: it took me one whole day to come up with four sentences for a particular emotion for Gilda.

This is definitely a challenge for me.

I’m a big Gilda fan, so I tried my hand at making a decent story for her. I don’t consider it too good, but its nice to know that I had a small following of FiM fiction with it so far. I’m going to try my hardest to make chapter three before the end of next week because I’m pretty upset I couldn’t get it out any sooner like I originally planned.
